Dr. Vishal Mandge is a board-certified neurologist and clinical neurophysiologist who has presented on the topic of burnout at grand rounds and major international conferences, including the Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN).

His experience with burnout began in 2023. He was an early career physician with extensive clinical, academic, research, and administrative responsibilities at a major academic center. His workload increased further following the departure of a nurse practitioner on his team. During this period, he also faced a significant personal challenge when his mother was diagnosed with cancer, requiring him to take an extended leave of absence.

Upon returning, he encountered substantial clinical and administrative backlogs, leading to increasing professional strain. With support from colleagues and departmental leadership, he was able to adjust his workload while maintaining his full-time role. Although these changes improved his situation, he recognized that vulnerability to burnout can persist beyond immediate stressors.

Motivated by this experience, Dr. Mandge pursued an in-depth study of the neurophysiology and prevention of burnout, developing practical strategies to enhance resilience and long-term professional well-being. His passion is to share these insights to help others effectively manage and prevent burnout.

Dr. Mandge plans to continue his full-time role as a neurologist at his current institution while pursuing his passion for helping physicians and other healthcare professionals recognize, prevent, and overcome burnout through education, coaching, and evidence-based wellness strategies.
